2021 – providing new solutions to connect the world!
The 35th International Cotton Conference Bremen will take place on March 17 and 18, 2021 in a completely new as well as innovative format. The Bremen Cotton Exchange and the Faserinstitut Bremen (FIBRE) as organizers decided on a future-oriented, virtual hybrid solution with a variety of communication offers.
The motto of ‘Passion for Cotton!’, originally planned for March 2020 but postponed, will remain in 2021. For once, the meeting place for the international cotton value chain will not be Bremen’s historic town hall in the center of the old Hanseatic city, as it has been for many years, but a virtual conference room characterized by interaction.
Specialists from the worldwide textile procurement chain will come together and will be provided a forum for scientifically founded and practically useful new insights into key issues surrounding cotton production, cotton quality, textile processing, innovative cotton-based products and the chain connecting all.
In order to connect everyone in the textile chain despite these difficult times, we decided to offer you a sensationally low participation fee for 2021.

The organizers of the International Cotton Conference
Bremer Baumwollbörse / Bremen Cotton Exchange
- Founded in 1872 to strengthen the interests of the cotton trade and processing in Germany, the now BBB has been in the cotton business for 148 years. As an international arbitration body, the Bremer Baumwollbörse stands for neutrality as a matter of principle.
- We offer various services for our members. Clear, neutral data and analyses are part of this.
- Together with the International Cotton Associaton from Liverpool and in cooperation with the Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. we offer as ICA Bremen the International Quality Testing and Research Centre in Bremen. The Hanseatic City is now the international center for cotton testing and research, quality training and certification.
- We represent our members in the most important international bodies of the cotton world
Faserinstitut Bremen e.V. / FIBRE Bremen e.V.
- In its almost 66-year history, the institute has developed from a cotton testing laboratory into a successful research institute at the University of Bremen for future-oriented fibers, technical textiles and fiber composites. It deals with fundamental scientific as well as application-oriented issues along the entire process chain from fiber production to the manufacture of fiber composite components for the aircraft industry, among others.
- FIBRE’s central international importance in cotton is demonstrated by the international harmonization of cotton testing (e.g. round robin tests in cooperation with ICAC and USDA-AMS), by central committee work (ICAC Committee on Standardized Instrument Testing of Cotton (CSITC), ITMF Cotton Testing Committee), and by the forward-looking cooperation with ICA-Bremen (accredited cotton testing laboratory, laboratory certification, training courses, cotton research).
