International Cotton Conference Bremen

  • The conference will be held at the Bremen Town Hall (“Rathaus Bremen”) and the Bremen Cotton Exchange building. The “Bremen Cotton Night” event takes place at the “Bremer Ratskeller”, close to the Town Hall.

  • The conference languages are English and German. Simultaneous translation will be provided for the conference sessions in the Town Hall.

    In addition, translation to French is currently under consideration. If you are interested in this service, please send an e-mail via our contact form.

  • Registration is possible either online on this website, or with a registration form. Please use one registration form for each participant and ensure that you register in time. The admission ticket and conference papers will be provided at the conference desk.

    • 24th March 10:00 – 17:00 at Bremen Cotton Exchange
    • 25th March 08:00 – 17:00 at Bremen Town Hall
    • 26th March 08:00 – 17:00 at Bremen Town Hall
  • Your conference materials, as well as your ticket for the “Bremen Cotton Night” event will be handed out at the conference desk.

  • The conference fee of EUR 700 includes the use of the simultaneous translation system, drinks during the coffee breaks as well as Wi-Fi.

    The “Bremen Cotton Night” fee is EUR 99 incl. dinner and drinks. The ticket price for the “Bremen Cotton Night” includes 19% VAT.

  • A reduction of EUR 50 off the Conference fee is granted to

    • “Early Birds” who register by 15th January 2018.

    A reduction of EUR 100 off the Conference fee is granted to

    • University members/members of research institutions
    • Bremen Cotton Exchange or Fibre Institute Bremen members

    The Conference is free for students.

  • To cancel your registration, please contact the Bremen Cotton Exchange. For cancellations received after 3rd February 2020, an administrative fee of 25% of the total sum will be charged. Cancellations received after 11th March 2020 will be liable for the total fee.

  • The proceedings of this conference, as well as the previous ones, will be available for download shortly after the conference. You can find them in the proceedings archive section of the Bremen Cotton Exchange Homepage.

  • People with YELLOW name tags are part of the organisation team and can answer your questions, or they will direct you to the person in charge.


Young Professionals Programme

  • The Young Professionals Programme includes additional activities to those of the conference. With their registration for the Young Professionals Programme, the Young Professionals will be automatically registered for the full conference for a 50% reduced fee.

  • The programme is open to applicants who

    • are under the age of 35
    • have less than 8 years’ experience in the industry
    • work in cotton/textile industry or research
    • have just finished, or are close to finishing university
    • are trainees
    • Networking Dinner
    • Creative Seminar: Creating the Cotton World of 2040
    • Introductions to Conference participants
    • Afternoon Tea with the heads of the important international cotton and textile organisations (planned incl. ICAC, ICA, ITMF, Cotton Incorporated and others)
    • Poster presentations about the young professionals and from the creative seminar
    • Introductions to and personal exchange with stakeholders from around the world at the Bremen Cotton Night
    • Conference participation for a 50% reduced fee
